History:
Chalet Mur was originally a traditional Austrian farm house built in 1860. Owned by a former master barrel maker Herr Anthofler, then sold it to the Glanzer family who owned it for the next 3 generations.
From 1950 onwards, alterations and extensions were made to accomodate the growing family and then Mrs Glanzer began to welcome her first guests in the 1980's. The house was described to us as having a comfortable uniqueness about it! We think she had that spot on! By early 2013 the property was on the market and we saw our opportunity to have our dream of running a guest chalet come true. Over the past year we have added modern facilities which blend seamlessly with the original charm to offer a unique and cosy, home from home experience for the next era of guests!
Highlights:
St Michael is an unspoiled resort, brimming with Austrian tradition. It's slopes are uncrowded, the locals are amazingly friendly, English is widely spoken, restaurants are inexpensive (even the mountain ones) and it really is the perfect location for a winter or summer holiday. We have an abundance of walks available from the door - simply choose your favourite from low level river, moderate forest paths or high alpine ridge hiking. The entrance to the spectacular Hau Tauren National Park is 30 minutes away.
The short links to the motorway also mean that you will never be short of cultural or recreational activities.
